Hello everyone,
My names John, i'm 24 years old from Leeds, England and have been battling with my weight for 5 years now.
You see, before my son was born in 2003 i weighed in at what i thought was an alright weight at 13st(182lbs) At the time of my wifes pregnancy i made the choice to give up smoking, drinking and dabbling with cannabis. However, replacing all of those vices resulted in me turning to food to replace them and to deal with hardship, stress and boredom.
In four years i ballooned to a portly 19.3st(270lbs). Christmas 2008 brought me into contact with the first full body picture of myself i'd seen in a very long time. What i saw shocked me and added realisation to my lack of energy, inability to play with my children and generally find clothes to fit. So i made the decision to change.
Over the past few months i've gutted it out, ate better and excercised more to drop over a stone to 18st(252lbs) but i seem to have reached a plateau.
I tried to go to the gym, and whilst i enjoyed the workout, the locker room full of ripped hard bodied blokes with their rippling 6-packs destroyed my enthusiasm and my confidence. So i hid away. But i'm determined to get better and lose this weight.
So last Saturday i took delivery of an airwalker and a rowing machine as well as taking my mums old manual treadmill. I've got some good dietary advice fand now i'm on my way!
