Well you already know my name...lol I am having a hard time with losing weight. I need other peoples help as well as my own. I currently weigh 209 and I feel like I look just absolutely horrible. I would like anyone's opinion on what they have used to help them.

Just by signing up here, you're already on the right track! :) You'll not find a better place to go for weight loss help.

I'm still pretty new to this all, but i've gotten some great suggestions already, namely calorie counting. Always check as best you can the amount of calories in each food you eat during the day as well as how many calories you burn during any exercises. I highly recommend using Fitday to keep track of everything.

Apart from that, just search around here! You'll find an answer to pretty much any question you have. Good luck!

Hi Ashley, and welcome.

You have cone to the right place to lose weight. You'll get all the advice and support you could possibly want here :)

What works best for me is a combination of calorie counting while eating more healthily (whole grains, fruit and veggies, etc) with exercise. Any kind of exercise will help, but there are optimum strategies that people are following here. Check out some of the other threads and people's diaries to find out what they're doing.

And - very importantly - don't try to lose weight too fast. 1 - 2lb a week is a sensible amount to lose. If you lose much more than that, you're quite likely to put it all back on again.

welcome!!

in my opinion the biggest step you cant take towards weight loss is getting your calorie intake in check. I'm a bi fan of fitday.com i bought the $20 version and i love it. it does everything i could ask for, there may be other programs out there, but this is the first one i tried, and works for me. if it aint broke dont fix it :)

I took it another step further, its been mentioned that calories estimates can be seriously off, so i went and bought a scale. so nearly everything i eat i know exactly to the gram how much im eating, and log it accordingly.

excessive? maybe.
does it work? YEP :D

Nutrition is going to be your biggest thing you can do towards it, in addition to excercise.

most important thing....

little steps. drastic changes may be hard to get accustomed to,
but hey if you got a world class drive (be honest with yourself) JUMP RIGHT IN.
