Hey everyone, my names Jenny. I found this forum on a link on someones 'Yahoo! Answers' answer.. i decided to join up and see if i can keep my motivation in my weight loss battle!

Im planning on moving to Tenerife with a friend of mine in around September, this is my ultimate deadline to be slimmer and much more toned. I have dieted and everything before but I always lose motivation and end up putting weight back on, this time it has to work, it just has too! I cant face being the fat one in the bikini in Tenerife, my friend happens to be naturally thin and although im not obese i look quite large beside her. Not anymore... i'm going to shape up and get healthy!

Ive been going for a couple of weeks up and down now so i'm hoping to make some good friends here so i can provide motivation to them and recieve some myself.

Love Jenny -x-

Wow, thats a pretty exotic place to move.

In anycase welcome.

Exotic indeed. You've come to the right place for inspiration! :)

Who needs a "good luck" when they've got Weight Loss Forum? :D

Wow , I really can relate! I moved here to Hawaii a few months ago, and wearing a bikini is certainly an everyday thing. Unfortunately , I havnt been comfortable in one for months. Im working on that for sure! Congrats on ur decision to lose some weight! We'll be here cheering you on :)

I'm excited

Hello everyone, I am Leticia, and I am new to this site. I really have never dieted because I have always had excuses for why I don't want to. I used work, little money, too much stuff to do, and thick is in. lol I have finally come to the realization that if I love myself as much as I now say that I do, I need to take care of my health much better. I am getting married March 1, 2008 and I went with my foster mother to try on dresses, and I was devastated by the way that I look. I was stuffed into a size 22 wedding dress, I finally had the kick in my butt that I needed to make a change. This is the beginning of my journey to a much healthier lifestyle, I am not going to go on a fad diet and not going to do anything that I am not able to maintain cause I dont want to yo yo all over the place. My strategy is portion control, less fat and calories, and daily exercise. I went out and bought some healthier alternatives to the foods that I have been eating, stopped drinking sodas, drastically reducing red meat, and walking 2 miles daily. I hope this will put a dent in my 280 pound body at 5 foot seven. I am going to be a hot mama on my wedding day, and every day from this day foward. My fiancee is not able to be here physically to help me with my weight loss because he is everworking to pay for our wedding..... this is where you all come in. I am scared that I am going to fall off the wagon, and never get back on. Can I get some inspiration yall!! I need help. Some before and after pics, some encouraging words, somthing. lol. Thank you guys, I have been through sooooooooooo much in life, and I am praying that I am beginning a totally different life for the better.

hello miss tish!

welcome! Soooo i am very new to this site also, but i'm certainly looking for a support buddy , and im more than happy to offer plenty of it myself! First of all , congrats on ur engagement! It seems like this fiance of urs is a very lucky guy... you seem like such a sweetheart! All i can say is... WAY TO GO! for deciding to take this big step. What you will hear from plenty others is that it's important to try to keep a diary for ur exercise and food intake day to day... it helps you to keep urself accountable... and it helps when we're here leaving you message after message of encouragement on those bad days that your bound to have (like the rest of us -... actually today was a terrible day for me... so there ya go!).
Anyway, you can do this! I have no idea how to link stuff in these posts... but i suggest you type in "weight loss diary" in the "search forums" box above the posts on this page. From there you will see post "stickys" about what you should consider including in ur first journal entry , etc. Hang in there... and again , congrats on ur decision to change ur life!

Hi Jennyfer and welcome!

You've definitely come to the right place to get advice and support for losing weight.

I'm just interested to know whether exercise is a part of your weight loss regime? I've always understood that dieting alone is much slower.
