Hey Guys.

Greetings from Georgia.

Hey, I'm new here. I am a 16 year old, 200lb, 5'6 male who wants to loose some weight, like 50lb would be amazing. 7 or 8 days ago I realized how big I was when I noticed that I drank 9 outta 12 of a 12 pack of brisk ice tea. Since then I have only drank water and I feel better already.

Since I have stopped drinking everything except water I feel like I have been eating more to make up for the lost of flavor in my life. I need a plan of diet and workout I can follow. I have been overweight since the 3rd grade and It's getting old. I have never used weights regularly or anything like that so I really need a plan. So if anyone has questions or answers for me I would greatly appreciate it. I thank you guys in advance for your time and attention. : )

Welcome to the forum.

Since you are still growing, it's not a good idea to cut your calories too much. That could stunt your growth. I think that 2000 calories per day would be a good starting point for you. Increase or decrease until you are losing about one pound per week.

I think it's a good idea to count calories, even if it's only for a week or so. It is a good exercise to become more aware of what you are eating. There are a lot off free tools available to help you count calories. My favorites are which is an online journal, and which is free dieting software.

You can also do an internet search for "2000 calorie diet" and find some daily meal plans. You probably won't want to stick to these rigid plans for very long, but it will give you an idea what a healthy, balanced meal plan looks like.
