Hey Guys :D

I guess I'll start by introducing myself. I'm 13 years old, gonna be 14 in February. I'm 6'2" and around 175 pounds the last time I checked, which was several month ago actually and I'm in better shape now than I was back then.

I've been thinking of trying a new exercise spree lately. I would basically go to the gym everyday for two hours, for two weeks. I would spend those two hours fully on the elliptical for 5 of the days. On the other two I would spend 30 minutes working out things such as legs and upper body, and the other 90 on the elliptical. Would any harmful effects follow?

When working on the elliptical, I usually use power 10 resistance and for 200 strides per minute for 30 seconds, then 100-120 for 60 and so on.

Hope you guys reply with helpful answers,

~Faruz

There is no need to exercise for 2 hours a day - what are you trying to accomplish (ie what are your goals) and maybe we can offer more helpful info.
From what I've read so far your weight is in the healthy range and you are a teenager that should be having fun with their friends not spending 2 hours a day in a gym. If you do feel the need to go that much you should be spending more time on strength training and not so much time dedicated to the elliptical. Just my opinion.

I mostly want to do it as an experiment to see what effect it has on my body. I do strength training twice a week, but it usually tires me out for a couple days so I can't do it more than that. So if I did do it though, would any negative effects follow?

Be careful with your weight training. At 13 , 6'2" and 175 pounds you are big for your age. Your muscles and tendons have not fully developed yet. By doing a lot of weight resistance training you could do more harm than good. Get a workout education. Read books and talk to people at the gym about getting on a program that will help you achieve your goals but not cause you injury or harm. Go slowly and take your time - build up your body and your nutrition and workout knowledge at the same time. Good luck on your journey.
