Hey everyone

I’ve been lurking here for a few weeks, taking in all the information and checking out all the success stories, I hope someday I’ll be able to post about my own success story.

As for myself right now, I am about 100 pounds overweight, I’m not sure what my exact weight is as I haven’t been weighed for over a year (I don’t own a scale).
I decided a little over two weeks ago that it is time for me to do something about my weight, I’ve been overweight since I was 13 and its always been something I’ve “planned” on taking care of, unfortunately I’ve never actually put forth any real effort to make that plan a reality.
I am hopeful and confident that this is the time to finally put forth the effort required and do something about my weight.

So far I’ve started the diet portion of my weight loss plan, I am trying to stay around 2000 calories per day, after a month or so of just dieting (I’m on day 16 right now) I plan on incorporating an exercise routine to compliment my diet. My thought process is that it will be easier to incorporate one change at a time rather than trying to change my entire life style overnight.

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and I’m hopeful that I will become a long time member of this forum.

Wow, sounds like you have a well thought out plan! It's hard to see people posting about how they are going to cut down to 1000 calories and run 5 miles a day. You just know they aren't going to last...

I wish you luck on your journey. I'm just re-starting mine! I went through some stress and surgery that caused me to regain and then gain more! But I have lost it once, so I know it's possible.

Make sure you pay attention to more than jst the calories - in other words, make sure you are getting all your nutrients. And start to find simple ways to add more motion in to your life. Simple things. Walk your dog, get up and walk around your house during commercials, pace while talking on the phone (I do this at work and everyone thinks I'm crazy!). Just get moving a little bit more everyday. Then when you add your exercise routine, you will be just a little more used to being active!

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I might start walking before starting a more intense exercise routine (joining the local gym).
So far I haven’t really been keeping track of anything except calories, but to stay under my calorie target per day I’ve been eating more fruits and veggies then I have for years, so I’m actually probably getting more healthy nutrients despite my diet.

Good luck on your weight loss journey, if you’ve done it before I’m sure you can do it again!
