I am new to the forum! I am looking forward to hearing some of the experts tips so that I can actually lose weight. I am 22 and have been overweight all of my life and want to make a change before i graduate from college and hit the real world.

Welcome to the forum.

We do have some experts here - but we also have a lot of other friendly people who have lost or are losing weight and have picked up quite a lot of information along the way that they have used to help them achieve what they have done so far... I am certainly not an expert but I did find out enough to lose a substantial amount of weight without resorting to pills or surgery so I must have picked up a fair bit of stuff.

There is also a brilliant archive of postings from the past decade which includes a lot of brilliant information... We have had some excellent experts help us in years gone by who have left an amazing legacy of information. A poster called Steve springs to mind who made over 17,000 postings in the time that he spent here. He certainly posted things that helped me in my big project.

The most important thing is that you believe that if you adopt a healthy lifestyle which incorporates both exercise and healthy eating at the appropriate calorie level - you can lose your excess weight and make your weight loss dreams come true... It does require a consistent lifestyle - but the rewards are amazing.

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends here

Good luck with your project.
