Here i go ...

Hey im Denise. Im 20 and live in Ireland. I have a lovely boyfriend and a 2 year old son and im on the road to slimville :) So im gonna start my diary tomorrow, putting in what i eat and what activities i get through tomorrow as i really really wanna lose weight. im just under 12 stone now and im 5ft 4 so i wanna at least get down to 10 stone but my ideal weight would be about 9 and a half stone . im hoping that reading over what i eat everyday will help realise what i should be doing to help me lose the weight. i usually skip breakfast about 4 times a week and then binge eat when i really get hungry and i know this is all wrong so from tomorrow im gonna try and turn over a new leaf. wish me luck :)
 
HellO Denise! I'm Jay....welcome to the forum! Good luck with the new leaf - the hardest part is making the decision and starting!

Writing down daily food intake - either on a logging site or here is REALLY helpful - forces you to realise what you are actually eating and also to be honest. If you have a bad day and write it down then you usually start thinking WHY did I make those choices - what emotional thing was triggering that...and understanding those sorts of things can help change patterns.

First off..find some breakfast that you like, that's healthy and eat it!! Everyday! I usually allow myself 200-350 cals for breakfast - just find it starts me off on the right footing for the day, prevents me being desperate for lunch or a mid-morning snack.

The other thing that's really motivating is a ticker!! You can see mine under this post :D It also tells others where you are starting off, how far you've got and what your end (or, in my case, short term as i'm going to change it to 160 soon) target is. I use and you can put it in your "signature" under User CP options on this forum.

Hi Jay . Thank you for the advice! well i usually skip breakfast but today i had a bowl of cereal, its nothing major but its something. I go for my weekly food shopping on mondays so i will be cutting out alot of things i usually buy, such as fizzy drinks, chocolate and crisps.. il be putting up everything i had today later on before i go to bed so im gonna try and do it daily to help myself :)
 
Breakfast - Bowl of cereal (crunchy nut)
Lunch - 4 slices of toast (bad i know)
Dinner - chicken peas and potatoes
snacks - 1 banana and pkt of crisps

so its harder than i thought, but.. i have ate alot less today than i usually do :) i plan on going for a walk soon when the little one is asleep so that will be a bit of exercise for the day ! gonna weigh myself weekly so il keep this updated :)
