Here I am

Okay so here I am, hopefully starting my accountability with this new thread/diary. Whenever I needed or wanted to lose some weight, it was never a problem.. Well here I am now and it has been a problem. You always hear how when you reach a certain age it becomes a little (or a lot) tougher to lose some weight. This has lead to a bit of depression and I let myself go. I can always start, but I haven't been able to form a habit because of various reasons out of my control. Not always excuses, but I just need to connect the dots and follow through.

I need to lose a minimum of 30 pounds.

It is day 1 and I have download the sworkit stretching app. I need to gain some flexibility and some mobility before starting anything. I have done a 10 minute stretching routine with this app today, and will probably do another this evening. I've incorporated meatless Monday dinner for this evening, and may do it a couple of times this week. I am always in need of motivation later in the week. My goal this week is to at least lose a pound by Friday's weigh in.

Ultimate goal is to be at 125 pounds.
 
Hi, Eavon & welcome to the forum. I think it's harder to make new habits as you get older as the old habits are more entrenched. It can be done though & requires some determination. Diet I think is key, but exercise helps with your motivation & general sense of well-being. Do you plan on counting calories?
