Hi Everyone! I've been reading some posts and I am looking forward to being part of this network.
I'm 24 and almost 5'8 and I've been trying to get in optimum shape shince I was 17.
When I was 17 I weighed the most I had ever weighed, almost 180lbs, I was never a 'thin' person. When I was 9 (grade 4) I weighed 120lbs. I carry most of my weight on the lower half of me. I have a very small chest and large thighs, hips and butt ; this combined makes me look unbalanced and heavier.
I started fad diets in my late teens and saw some results but not alot, After 2 years of various fad diets and occasional exercise, I dropped down to 165lbs. Not long after I turned 20 (now around 160lbs) I started dating a guy of bad influence and I started partying...really partying hard. I ended up dropping down to my goal of 135lbs in 9 months...this was all from partying, a very unhealthy way to lose weight. Even at my goal weight I still didn't look how I wanted (nothing was toned). I stopped partying and cleaned up my act.
Well now at the age 24 I weigh 148lbs, this weight has been more or less constant. I'm always between 144lbs-150lbs. This is a health weight range according to my BMI, but I still don't like how I look or feel. I still want to reach my goal of 135lbs...but toned! I know it is possible, since I have already seen the scale there once.
I'm am starting a real plan this time. Not a fad diet. I am starting the Turbo Jam exersice program, It comes with a really easy to follow sensible eating plan, it's not really a diet, it's just more so a guideline. I'm going to eat 1200-1500 calories a diet and exersice my butt off (literally ;-) ).
