Hi, my name is Kate and I'm from the UK.
I wish I could say that I was shocked when I suddenly realised that I weighed 200lb, but the truth is I could see and feel just how much weight I was putting on over the last three years. I am a comfort eater extrordinaire!!
I was widowed at 37 and immediately lost an enormous amount of weight - because my husband wasn't there. Now I have gained an enormous amount of weight - for exactly the same reason. (I have to say my husband would have laughed at my logic)!

I want to be healthier and to be able to run around with my children without feeling out of breath! I want to be able to sit down in the evening, tired from an active day instead of lethargic from overeating and very little exercise.
I've read a lot of posts on the forum and everyone is so supportive and full of great advice that I look forward to trying to achieve this amongst new friends.

Thanks

Welcome, Kate! Yeah, I know what you mean about the weight creeping on. For me, I stood on the scale at 270 and was shocked... I was SURE I wasn't more than 250. But that's okay, I'm not there anymore!
I'm sorry to hear about your husband, and weight that's lost that way (grief, anxiety, etc) tends to come back. My dad died this year and my mom (at 53) lost a ton of weight, but is putting it back on now as quickly as it came off.
You'll find a lot of fantastic support here on this forum. It's a great place to come to share your own story and to be inspired by others!
