Namaste everyone

I'm a 23 yr old. Suffering with PCOS since 7 years. I also have the associated symptoms like hirsutism, overweight, amenorrhea, mood swings, etc. I believe many of the women here can relate with me. My weight is constant at 68kgs since 7 yrs. So even losing a kg will be a great achievement for me. I feel so fatigue to workout everyday. But everytime I start, I can't manage to be consistent. So I need the forum's help in providing motivation and inspiration.

My first goal would be to make small lifestyle changes and stick with them for 21 days. The small changes will be:
#Cut on rice and junk food.
#Exercise for 30-60 minutes daily with emphasis on yoga and zumba.
#Do not sleep immediately after lunch or dinner but take a walk.

Wish me luck and thanks in advance for your support. Regards.

Day 1: Managed with no rice or junk food. Done 10 minutes of low impact Tabata workout and 20 minutes of yoga. Something is better than nothing. Will increase the duration or impact tomorrow.

Well done on a good start. Not having gained any weight in those seven years is pretty heroic already! PCOS really does make life harder but living healthily despite the suckiness can only make things better. Best of luck, I look forward to reading along.

I got a step counter thingy on my phone and it is helping me get more steps in during the day. It seems to be helping. Just an idea
Hang in there!

Hi, Hema & welcome to the forum. You have done very well maintaining at 68 kg for 7 years. That is an excellent achievement. What is your goal weight?

Hi Cate, thanks for your words. My goal weight is to be below 60kgs. My height is 5'2" n ideal weight is around 55kgs.

Hey Brawny, I too got the Pacer app. Pedometer is a boon to the beginners. I stick to it on off days for about 2-3 hours. I don't sweat but my legs feel sore the next day. I'd love to hear about your progress.

Hello LaMaria,
Your words mean so much to me. Thank you for your support. I was having a normal weight till age 12, but then it gradually increased due to sedentary lifestyle, long hours at school, desk job..Now I badly regret the lack of importance of sports education in our society. All these diseases like PCOS, thyroid, diabetes are just lifestyle disorders. So maybe the only cure lies in lifestyle change.

Thanks for being here with me. Stay connected :)

Day 2: Not able to exercise due to sore legs but walked for about 7 km. No junk food but had a small bowl of rice. Fully determined to sweat out through yoga tomorrow.

Walking about 7 km sounds like exercise to me :) Well done Hema! No junk food? Again- well done :)

Day 3: Did early morning yoga. Had a sedentary day. Went on a walk with friend in the evening and she forced me to have street food. Peer pressure is difficult to tackle when it includes our best friends. However, I managed to nullify the calories by skipping the dinner. I know it's unhealthy but I'd definitely try to avoid such instances further.

I request you all to suggest me some diet tips and the calorie intake of yours so that I can personalize mine.

Our calorie intake won´t be of much use for you because everyone is different. There are several calorie calculators out there on the web and they don´t all agree (some suggest very restrictive diets) but I think Trusylver had a suggestion for a sensible one. In general your food intake depends on your age, weight, height, gender and activity levels.
