I need some help with lunches. I know I can have a lean cusine, or a salad, or some low fat soup, but I need a variety of food, as to not get bored on my diet. I need to keep lunch 300 cal's and under....any suggestions??

you could also try some lean pockets... they are quick and fast and very yummy and come in lots of varieties. Sandwiches are also very good. I just found this bread, i think by sara lee and it is light 100% whole wheat... each slice is only 45 calories.. add some peanut butter and jelly, or tuna fish, or lunch meat, whatever, and you have a great sandwhich... umm... what else...

I am a big fan of whole wheat bagels and hummus. Hummus is made from chickpeas and usually has some kind of added stuff like peppers, or olives, or tomatoes... it is kind of like cream cheese, but much more of a whipped consistency. The chickpeas add alot of protein, and that is right around 300cals.

You could also have more of a snack type lunch. Have veggies with dip or fruit with a yogurt dip and add some pretzels.

For all of the above - instead of using mayo try yogurt instead. You save about 75 calories a meal by substituting it for a spread on your sandwich. If you just use the plain non-fat yogurt, it has a bit of a sourness to it, but that just means a "zip like miracle whip" - okay, not quite, but i can substitute it and not notice too much.

I hope this gives you some ideas... and good luck!
