Help with c-section belly

I've lost weight recently and my stomach is generally a little flatter, but I have this issue with some sagging over the c-section scar. I'm doing 5 days a week of cardio and different body parts each day with the weights, working upper and lower abs on an every other day basis. So, do you think that it's possible to resolve this so called "mother's apron" without surgery?

No amount of ab work is going to fix it if your diet isn't helping you lose body fat.

remember you cannot spot reduce fat. you can work the muscle underneath, but the body is pre-programmed as to where it burns fat from. and the abdomen is always the last to be burned.

Well like Malkore said, you can't spot reduce, and losing that overhang is partly fat loss, and partly genetics. I had a c-section and have the scare too. Took a strict diet, and a lot of exercising to help get rid of that. mine was more of a bulge, but once I lost the fat it was reduced. I say reduced because it is a scar, and it will always have a bit of an "indent"....it is a scar.

but if you lose fat, and build up a little muscle there, you can definitely greatly improve it....

Thank you both! Yes I am eating healthy, doing cardio and all over weight training, I was just hoping that I could look forward to having that smooth again.

I had a C-section in 1996, and 13 years later, I now have a layer of fat that kind of puffs out around my scar. God, why now?! They DO have something called a C-section scar revision, which is very similar to a "mini tummy tuck" but obviously I'm going to try working out first. I was 19 when I had my son, the days of a super fast metabolism are gone! I think a clean diet and some weight lifting, sit-ups, and Pilates will help. At least that's what I'm going to ATTEMPT! :)

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Thanks ladies, I think for the first time ever since reading this I am happy that I couldn't walk for a week after delivering my boys via the other method. My wide pelvis will never be the same though, yours are probably narrow and for that I am jealous! Good luck Moms : )

P.S. If you ever have an abdominal hernia surgically repaired they usually do a small tuck with it. Not that that's an answer, just a side note.

I hear herbal body wraps are pretty amazing at helping reduce the Momma Pudge :)

I am seriously considering having a wrap done on my legs to see if it will help at all.

Plus!! They have the added bonus of not being nearly as expensive as plastic surgery, lipo, or any other invasive procedure - which if you think about it - will set you back yet again on getting to your goal of flatness.

Just some food for thought...
