Help to work around shoulder injury

Okay .. I need help putting together a upper body workout to work around shoulder injury.

A little background. I've had issues with both shoulders since around Jan 2010 (prob before that but less so). I had a MRI on left shoulder and the report came back saying no particular issues except some small cysts on top of humerous (which they didnt see as an issue) however, I have a more painful right shoulder, but its taken several months to get an MRI on this shoulder (I like in the UK and I don't have private health care so its being done on the NHS) and after some physio, the specialist had finally agreed to send me for MRI on the right shoulder (this is partly down to the physiotherapist suggesting that it could be a slap tear lesion).

Anyway, its now been several months since I've worked out doing anything other than cardio and I'm sick of waiting around doing nothing. In some ways I've used the issue as an excuse not to work out, but in reality I know I could still be working out and working around my injury. The problem is I'm unsure what I can and can't do. The right shoulder hurts if I push againts it too much. I first noticed it when I was holding sparing pads back in Jan 2010 and my friend was throw punches at the pads .. with the very first punch/throw I instantly felt pain my shoulder. I also get pain if for example I have to push a really heavy door closed with that shoulder/arm.

So based perhaps on the basis of a slap tear lesion, can someone recommend an upper body workout that should limit placing too much stress on the shoulder joint but still give quite an effective upper body workout?
