Help plz - stomach crunches

I started doing stomach crunches.. put knees up, and just lift my shoulder blades off the ground.. i then felt the ''burning'' and stuck with it, doing reps of 20, and i did about 5 sets.. ok the next day, my stomach was in pain and i wasnt able to do anymore, today my stomac h is better but i can't do anymore.. what is the problem? any tips?
 
You are overtraining most likely. Go with fewer reps and keep the sets the same and see what happens. If that didn't work, just keep changing the variables until it fits.
 
But I do it until it burns then I do a few more then stop until i can go no further..

Does this sound right? How long till I see changes
 
Sounds like you are overtraining. Don't go crazy on your abs like that. Lower the reps and sets FIRST, then add to them as you progress. You cant hit the ground running, you have to learn to crawl first. Hanging leg raises are a better exercise anyway. In fact I prefer push ups between chairs for a good ab workout. Crunches are not my favorite.
When will you see results? It depends on your level of training and your body fat %.
 
Yea i use stomach crunches too i think...
On my back lift knees up. Hands behind head and touch my elbows with my knees by lifting upper body and im not too sure if that works...I do about 200 a night but nothing seems to work...Is there a quicker more efficent way? i tried that chair thing but i fell...
