Hello there. Dont worry guys, this isnt a suggestion to try and get you to write me a new program or anything, Im just curious wether or not I should include cardio into my workout as much as I am. Heres a summary of my plan. (I can list the full thing if needed);
(I do Jumping jacks-2000, half forwards half back with speeded 100 every 500-3x a week)
one day for arms and shoulders, + jumping jacks
one day for abs and legs
one day for chest and back, + jumping jacks
one day for running-(3 miles, at 70% intensity, with 4 1:00min long sprints at full intensity)
one day of just jumping jacks
Then I take the weekend off
The reason why I only have one day for abs and legs is because, well, flat out I hate doing ab workouts(I know its a bad reason. another, less real yet great sounding reason is because I get lower back pain.
), and my legs get a workout from all the cardio thats being done also. I like the large, broad shoulders and upper torso look, and thats what one of the designs for this workout is supposed to improve.(I naturally have broad shoulders, but my arms get skinny as sticks if I dont work em out, so I look pretty funny)
So my question is, is this too much cardio and fat burning to gain muscle? I want to lower my body fat% a bit, (its at about 15% right now), while also gaining a bit more muscle.
Should I, instead take off the junmping jacks on the days that I also work muscle? I can do it as listed, ( I am and have been for about a week), but I dont know if its just detering muscle growth(Because I know its burning fat).
The results ive got so far are good, but they always are when I get to working out again. (Ive been off and on for a while now, so its not like im out of shape to do this.) I always look more puffy and muscular just after the first couple days of working out, (dunno why)(Its cool though), so I cant really go off my results quite yet, and dont wanna go through a month of uselessness either, and I find that each workout has been cancelling the other out.
Thanks guys.
