Help needed - pic included - CLICK AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION

Hello. I am in my very early 20s, 5'6", and around 147-149 lbs.

I want to lose weight. What should I do?

Here is a pic included for reference.

Your question is like asking, "I'm sick. What should I do?"

Have you spent any time reading the stickies here? If not, that would most likely be a great starting point as it'll help you understand the foundational basics that are necessary for success. Things like the importance of calories and nutrients, how to exercise for specific goals, etc.

Need a bit more information to be able to offer any advice.

What does your food diary look like on an average day.

What exercise do you do currently, and do you have access to a gym?

It's not as simple as "eat less". You can actually eat more if you "eat right'. And also take the right supplements.

Why diets do not help

Lose weight only by the expenditure of calories, if you awake enough to eat will lose in the first muscle.

Hopefully this will be more helpful than just being told to eat less and move more, because getting fit really is more than just that. If you want to burn the most fat, in the least amount of the time, then you should start working out with High Intensity Interval Training. The best method of training that I've come across for building lean muscle, strength, and getting my body fat down to around 6% has been training with kettlebells. I still lift weights 2-3 times a week on top of my daily kettlebell training however. But whatever you do, don't believe that running on a treadmill, or any other aerobic forms of exercise are the best ways to burn fat, because they arent. Im a certified personal training and kettlebell instructor, and i know form experience, as well as from all of the studies that have been done over the past couple of years, that short, intense bouts of physical exercise are much more effective for developing a lean body than aerobics.

As for your diet, keep all of your carbs very low glycemic(if you don't know what this means, just google it). Make sure you consume a lot of lean protein throughout the day as well as good fats from nuts, seeds, olive oil, fish, etc. Eat small, frequent meals about every 2-3 hours. Always start by eating green fibrous veggies first, then move onto lean protein and good fat, and finish with complex carbs. If you need any more help or clarification let me know, I'd be happy to help you out, or give you some sample workouts and/or tutorials. Good Luck!
