Help meee!

Ok, so I don't have a lot of weight to lose, somewhere between 5 and 10. (I'm 125 now.)
I try and eat the correct ammount of calories a day, I don't really count, I just kind of think back to what I've eat several times a day, and guess. (Once I know how many calories are in something I almost never forget). (It's somewhere between 1600 and 1700, decreased close to 500 from 2100, as is most of the time recommended when one wants to lose weight...)

So my problem is not that I'm clueless about what to eat, I'm not worried about not losing immediate weight (Because I honestly look pretty good now) but that I feel HUNGRY all the time. My stomach is always grumbling, I feel so dizzy that I have to keep my head straight, sometimes I feel like I'm going to pass out.

I'm one of those unfortunate people who feels ill after going four hours without eating, but lately I'm always feeling sick in between. In fact, unless I feel really FULL after a meal, I feel HUNGRY almost immediately after finishing!

What would you guys suggest, are there some, I dunno, super foods that will help keeps my poor stomach settled and satisfied for a decent amount of time? I really don't want to eat a lot more, either.

Thanks in advance =P

Protein and fats do a better job of keeping you feeling full longer. Are you eating enough of those?

Eat more carbs. Carbs definitely will fill you up quicker. I doubt it will help you lose your desired weight if your eating more carbs though. Also, if your dizzy make sure you are getting enough water.

I have to disagree with Rockhard, and back up Tony. The last thing you want to do is eat more carbs.

What you're describing suggests that you are having some degree of blood sugar sensitivity, brought on by spikes, do to improper nutrient pairing.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get checked for diabetes or insulin resistance, if you are feeling dizzy to the degree that it is life hindering.

In the mean time, make sure all meals are paired with a complete protein source and work on implementing good fats and fibers while lowering simple sugars and general fast acting carbohydrates.

This doesn't necessarily have to mead a low carb diet, just a smart one.

If there is one carb I would reccommend, it is OATS. Fills you up, tons of fiber, which will help control your blood sugar. I am hard pressed to think of a better source of fiber in the world.

Of course, I do agree completely that healthy fats and proteins are something you want to get into your diet, in the right amounts.

Thanks for all of your replies!

I'd almost forgotten about the magical power of ~fiber~. I actually went on a pretty high fiber diet a couple years ago before going to Mexico, I didn't really intend to, but I lost 11 pounds in a month. From 130 to 119. It got to the point where I ate so much fiber that I ALWAYS felt full and really had to remind myself to eat.
I ate a bowl of oatmeal with some apples and cinnamon in it this morning, and I felt nicely full for awhile. (I made it from scratch, it wasn't the prepackaged stuff.)

I eat very little fat. I don't think about it anymore, but I've been eating fairly low fat for so long, that I just don't eat very much at all. (I don't stress out about it either...)

I would say I have definitely not been getting enough protein... I don't do the shopping in the family, and protein is fairly expensive, it's also popular in the house, especially with my meat head younger brother. Veggies and fruits, on the other hand, get left in the fridge forever and I eat a LOT of those.

In response to Theleip. I do have a lot of diabetes in my family, and a lot of people are hypo glycemic. My mom thinks I might be hypo glycemic, and so I should watch out for sugars cause she said it could turn to diabetes (I have no idea about any of that >.> So I may even be misinterpreting what she said a bit...). I guess it'd be a good idea to get it checked out. I never really put a lot of thought into it.

It sounds like you probably already do, but eat plenty of green vegetables: high fibre, high vitamin content, low calorie, low glycemic index, etc. Not one bad thing about them.

I was totally joking about the carb thing. Addressing Aricia, it sounds that you eat pretty well but I think you have a misconception about fat. There are good types of fats. You need them to sustain life. Eat a lot of nuts and olive oil for good fat.

I know I need fat, but unfortunately it comes so naturally to me now to just avoid fat (I used to avoid it like the plague though... I used to eat ridiculous amounts of protein, some carbs and LOW LOW fat...)

I guess I can do with some extra nuts in my diet. I love them, and I love trying new kinds. <3
