The best way i find is that if you have a meal consisting of calories and carbs in the morning, it sets you up nicely for the day, personally, i have a very large bowl of frosties in the morning as this really helps to get me going.

I used to be like yourself, i loved bread and pasta etc...people always say that carbs are good for you, but your body can only store around 350grams of carbs before it turns it into fat, so watch the carb intake.

For lunch i would suggets you eat a large helping of vegetables and fruits such as cherries, kiwi fruits and melon, these are quite filling and are quite low in carbs.

For the evening meal, have something light, soup and a bread roll and perhaps a low fat yoghurt after the meal would help, this contains protein so helps to build muscle and also is low in fat and there is very few carbs in yoghurts.

If you do this, your carb intake will drop, so that when you do exercise, your body will use the stores of carbs that it already has, making you lose weight.

Hope this helps.

you gotta get to the gym.
getting a personal trainer to help you with your first steps is a plus.
doing crunches will not help flatten out your stomach because you gotta get rid of layers of fat first.
there is no such thing as spot reduction.
when your body burns fat, it burns it everywhere and not just in one spot.
crunches will help develop your muscle underneath the fat layers, but not much more.
soo....cardio and weights..

personally, i shed 30 lbs about 7 years ago by doing physical activity -- cycling and martial arts helped.

if you want to lose weight, you have to have the right attitude. you have to have confidence in yourself, and cannot think negatively of yourself. you cant think of your training and torture.

well, the good thing about exercise is that you can do a whole lot of things...all you have to really do is, well move. swim, bike, run, etc, as long as it gets your heart up, it's great. now, i dont know what complications the surgery brings, but i would consider consulting a doctor before starting a program.

start slow, but stay determined. dont give up. you dont see results immediately, it takes a while. but once you see those results, you'll be hooked.

do not, i repeat do not use diet pills. if you want to lose weight, keep it off and be healthy, there is absolutely no way around it, the only way to do it is by diet and exercise. both are very critical.

keep an eating log. vegetables and whole wheats are your new best friends. avoid white flour and refined sugar. those two things are huge, huge enemies to a weight loss effort. sure, no diet is perfect, but foods like soda, cakes, candy, all the ones your mother told you to stay away from should be avoided at all costs. eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water. use common sense, eat foods you know are healthy.

as i said, i dont know what conditions are with your surgery, so you may want to consult your doctor, and he can better answer how often your body can take a workout.

i really hope this is not a lot to take in. please do not be intimidated by it. i wish you all the best in your efforts. train smart, and most of all believe in yourself.
