carbo-loading is 4 runners. you gotta get protein from meats and fish or supplement shakes for your pre- and post workout meals if you wanna build muscle.

There are alot of factors that play into "normal" fluctuations of weight. Lets look at an example: When one first gets up in the AM (assuming 8 hours of sleep), the body can be at its lightest weight of the day and possibly closest to the truest and honest body weight (I am not factoring in the possibility of one holding a bowl movement from yesterdays meals, which is possible). As one goes on during the day drinking water and consuming food, the body will appropriately absorb (through its design intention) the nutrients and water, and the body weight tends to go up within healthy individuals. Therefore its "natural" for body weight to increase during the day from what it weighed when first waking up in the morning, for example.

This very thing can can confuse and cause much "unnecessary" despair with some persons. One has to decided to keep the scale (and work with it through "educated eyes") or decided to toss it, dependent on what suites their personal goal quest.

I weigh 161 pounds and am 5' 7" (8.7 BF, approximately, working toward 7%). I cannot say for absolute certainty (given bone size, and other personal particulars) whether your weight is appropriate (thus the distinction I give that most BMI calculators (online especially) are trash). Im considered moderately overweight, for example, and this is laughable, for example.

If anything you are probably fairly close (given averages), but this isnt of course absolute certainty.

Weight training doesnt depend on weight as much as determining your physical starting point (exercise and weights to start out with) and determining your diet that is in line with your personal goals.

And, one of the primary reasons I have been successful in diet and fitness (with knowing my short comings of age, I am over 45 years of age), is through a term I call: Functional Adaptability . You learn this in your goal journey, it will be a your ultimate best friend, and this I PROMISE.

ROCK ON!

Best wishes to you!
