Help me out

so obviously you can tell i am new to this forum, and i have been looking around and found some valuable info already. I, like most people, am looking to cut fat while building muscle which seems to be quite common. I had a couple questions about whey protein that i couldnt find the answer to in previous posts:

1. Should i take the reccomended amount of whey on my "rest days"?

2. Is weight training before cardio best or vice versa?

id appreciate any input and keep in mind that while im not new to exercise in general, i would classify myself as a beginning lifter

1. You should get the minimum amount of protein everyday, on or off day. Your protein should come from mostly whole foods, while using whey to fill in the cracks.

2. Weight training befor cardio.
 
so i should focus on cutting before taking the whey and lifting heavy?
Would you still reccomend weight training while cutting to at least try to maintain current muscle mass? thanks for your help
