HELP! i need to lose my love handels!

Does anybody out there know the most effective way to lose that extra fat around your waist and towards your back? i've been an active swimmer and runner forever, but can't seem to get rid of this area. can somebody give me some suggestions?
 
There's no way to spot reduce fat unfortunatley. Eat right/exercise is the only way to lose fat, and your love handles might be the last place to lose fat :(.
 
Wait what do you mean no way to spot reduce sure you can... you just need to build a little muscle in its place. Do the side to side windmill kinda thing... 40 a night... 20 on each side... and they can be gone in a couple weeks. Sorry i cant be more clear its like stand up then put one arm over your head pointing to the otherside and bend over that way.... here ill make a picture/

Its ghetto i know but do you get the idea? Switch off sides and do twenty on each side a night. Goodluck
 
THERE IS NO SPOT REDUCTION !!! Why do people not listen???
If you are an active runner and swimmer then your problem is your diet. Write down what you are eating and when. After a week of this you will easily see where you can make improvements.
 
I am not sure if its 100% possible as I am doing it myself, but I got rid of a bunch of it. I do 8 miles a day, eat (a little) better, and work out my upper body and back regularly. Thinking maybe ill lose wait til im too skinny, then gain the wait back while working out. I heard working out just before eating a high protein and fat(not 100% on the fat part) meal is supposed to help you get bigger and help move the fat to where the muscles you are working out are.
 
It's better to schedule the meal after the workout instead of the other way around. That is called your recovery meal. High protein is good, but don't forget the simple carbs also
 
losing love handles

Even though mine aren't fully gone yet, the exercises I am doing for them have worked. Some people have fat there that wont go away though, but you can always improve the muscle underneath. Side curls, where you lie slightly on your side and place the palm of your hand on your hand and curl upwards a bit and have your belly tightened for when you do any belly exercise. Both sides doing that 15 times/ 3 reps 3 times a week. Leg lifts, ly on your side and extend your leg (while tightening your belly) as far as u can and keep it consistant and even on both sides. 15 to 25 reps, 3 times, 3 days a week. Winsor pilates ab sculpting video is also great because they have certain movements that target your obliques (aka lovehandles). Standing with feet shoulder width apart, use your belly to bend and cross your right hand to left ankle. Come up and again put your left hand on your right ankle. Doing this 50 times every 2 days has toned as well. well try and i hope it goes well. :)
 
love handles

i did the diet & exercise thing and in 5 weeks had lost 15 lbs - 4 inches around my hips and 5 inches around my stomach.

i still do have some fat pads, tho...don't forget, when you lose, you lose muscle, but when you gain, it's fat.

you don't necessarily lose where you gained. just keep working out and eating right. that's what i'm doing.

Ok this is my first official post on this website (or any online forum), im not quite familiar with navigation on this particular website, but i hope its not too late to post this...I recently read that u run 8 miles while eating just a "Little Bit"? Your problem is your diet, u need to eat, dont be cheap when it comes to feeding your body, u deserve a cheat day once a week with ur workout (No holding back eat wht ever u want on a cheat day, but only if ur strict on ur diet)...The problem with humans is that our brains evolved, but our bodies still function under the thought that it needs to survive no matter what, so when u dont give ur body enough food it is tricked into believing that u are passing through a phase of food and supply shortage, so it stores the fat in your body instead of burning it...another tip to get rid of love handels, specific exercises...runing and swimming are preety good, but theres a difference between exercises and a type of workout...go on youtube and just search for random exercises on how to lose love handels, get an idea...
