First, I'd like to introduce myself. I am a 37 y.o. male, 5'10", 243 lbs. I am medium to large frame.
I finally decided that I have to get into better shape. My oldest daughter leaves for college this fall and I realized I need to be healthy so I can grow old with my family...weddings, grand kids and such. I was having chest pains earlier this year and went for a heart cath, everything checked out ok. But my cholesterol and everything else said I was definitely a canidate for a heart attack, diabetes and etc. Especially giving my family history.
So this brings me to this site. I guess what I need help with is someone or group that can help me with eating programs and workout routines. I really don't know where to start.
Over the last couple of weeks I have set up a home gym. Now what to do with the equipment. I have a rowing machine, elliptical machine,300 lbs. of Olympic free weights, crunch and dumbell bench and a weight bench. Can anyone help me with a routine to use all of this equipment to accomplish my goals. I would like to lose weight, down to 180, as well as build my cardiovascular system and increase muscle mass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
