Hi, I've always been chubby, but after having my son in 2005 my weight got out of control. Just before my wedding this past February, I was able to lose just about 20lbs but was unable to sustain it. By June month end I had hit the 200 mark. I am only 5"1", suffering with a herniated disc and sciatic pain in my left leg. I can't exercise much because of this pain. So far, I've been able to lose just over 11 lbs. Weighed in Aug. 24 at 188.8lbs.

I have hit a plateau, and don't know what else to do. Need help.

I've noticed 3 positive points in your post:
1. You asked for help. A 1000 miles journey starts with a single step. Make this thread your first step.
2. Before wedding you were able to lose about 20 lbs. I can clearly see that when you were motivated enough to lose weight, you lost 20 lbs.
3. Since June you lost 11lbs. This is another victory. Keep going.
I also noticed 2 negative points:
1. In both cases you mentioned "...just..." as if it was nothing worthy. I think both cases were victories against extra weight and a clear indication that your body can lose it.
2. You said you were unable to sustain the weight loss. Probably you missed your motivation after the wedding and abandoned your diet, or you were following a fad diet. Fad diets don't work to help you keep the weight you lose off long-term.
In order to help we need more info. Let's start with your weight loss goal, eating habits, what kind of exercise your doctor recommended (considering your herniated disc and sciatic pain), your motives, and finally if you have a plan to follow.
