Hi all,

I am 6ft 3 and weigh 341lbs, I have a goal to lose about 100lbs. I have decided to try and drink more water, cut out fatty foods along with portion sizes. I also
plan to exercise more frequently. I look forward to hearing about everyone's success and hope to share some of my own.

Welcome derfzilla! You can certainly do it, look forward to that day and how good so many things will be. Cutting down fatty foods and portion sizes is the start, knowing just how many calories you actually need daily is a "must know". Fat loss is a up and down road so do not get discouraged but welcome each day with a positive drive to continue on.

Welcome to the forum, calorie counting works for many but it is not essential. Start off slow, don't try to do to much to soon.

Starting a diary also helps many of the members here to not only track food and exercise, but to receive and give support to others as well as a place to vent when thing don't go the way you want.

Welcome to the forum.

I encourage you to read the sticky threads in the nutrition section - because you really want to ensure that you are having sufficient protein etc. Low calorie does not cover the whole story. Fruit and vegetables are healthy - but they do not supply a complete healthy food plan.

Exercise is a very good idea. I found walking to be very beneficial - particularly in the early days (when I was a fair bit bigger than you). I still do a lot of walking (I have done 5 miles on my treadmill today).

You just need to stick with the new lifestyle and you will get the desired results.
