Hi, my name is Christie.

I'm no stranger to weight loss; I have hypothyroidism. This is my second wave of serious attempts to drop my weight. I was successful once: I went from 260 pounds to 190 pounds. It was easy then. I was biking to work 10km each way, had a stable job that I liked, and was financially secure. It's easy to lose weight when life throws you circumstances like that. But then I switched jobs and found myself in a toxic relationship. I was travelling a lot for work so I wasn't eating very healthy or getting much exercise, and my time at home was stressful because of my relationship. I gained most of the weight back landing myself at 247 pounds. I've maintained that for about a year, but I've had enough. I want to lose that weight... again.

I have several goals. My long term goal is to drop to 170 pounds. My short-long term goal is to be 190 pounds at my black belt test in taekwondo, which will likely be around this time next year (I'm a red belt now). In the past month I've dropped to 236 pounds (46.2% body fat), leaving me with 46 to lose in a year, followed by the last 20 pounds after that. I'd like my body fat percentage to drop within normal range as well.

I also have some athletic goals to pass the Canadian Forces fitness test:

Shorten 2.4km run time to 12min from 18min
Be able to run 10km continuously (currently at about 4km)
Be able to do 5 chin ups (from my current 0)

At this stage I surpass the minimum requirements for sit ups and pushups, but I of course would like to improve those as well.

Anyways, sorry for such a long introduction ;). I've joined this forum for the support. I belonged to a forum the last time I lost 70 pounds and the support really helped. I'm also looking for a diet buddy if anybody is interested?

A+
Christie
