Hi everyone, im new here and I wanted to formally introduce myself to this weightloss community. I am coolcat3 I am 19 and I am 302 lbs.

I am here because I feel like it would be much easier to take this journey with a community and not just alone. In high school I weighed 330 lbs, and I drop nearly 30 pounds, the only problem now is that I am not completely sure how I did that. I was on the football team at the time the weight just seemed to fall off over the course of nine months.

As of right now I walk about 4 miles a day which takes me about one hour and ten minutes from the time I leave my home to the time I return, I dont eat many calories, I would actually be surprised if I ate anything more than 1500 per day. If you guys can give me any advice at all I would truly appreciate it, my first goal is to get down to 270, so any and all advice would help.

Hi there, coolcat! And welcome!

Congrats on losing those 30 pounds, however it happened! That's awesome - I bet there are a bunch of people on here who wish they could lose that much wihtout really knowing how! ha.

It's a great idea to come on the forum and get involved with the community - a lot of us here agree that it would either be SO much more difficult, or impossible, without the support of everyone here. So - good decision!

As far as advice, the only thing I can offer (by the way, I've lost a total of... 20kg so far... but I am NO EXPERT!!!) is to use this diary to express your frustrations and experiences, but also to record absolutely everything you eat, and all your exercise. By just having to write everything down, you become relaly conscious of every little thing that you eat. It's that conscious mindset that really makes a difference to me. Later, if you want, you can start to look up the calories for things and see how you are going.

Good luck, and hope to see you back here soon!

Hi and welcome! You're right, it's easier with support.

Just one word of warning - make sure you eat enough calories! 1500 is actually quite low for an active male (at least I'm assuming you're male since you mention football, but then again you could mean soccer.) :) Too few calories will end up backfiring on you, plus it's hard to maintain.

Good for you on the 4 miles a day! That's awesome!
