Hi there, I'm Jada. As of this posting I am 345 pounds and 6'2" tall. I've been the "big girl" my whole life, and I've just accepted it. I've seen the stories where people lose all this weight, but my mindset has always been "that'll never be me." I've made poor eating choices and live a sedentary lifestyle. My long term, ultimate goal is to bring myself down to about 200-215, but by this time next year I at least want to be at or below 300. I want to lose the weight, but I just am having a hard time finding the willpower to diet and exercise the way I should be. Has anyone here run into that problem? Fortunately for me, I don't have any health problems as of yet to prevent me from excersising, but I'm just lost as to where to begin and am seeking any help or advice, which I hope to find on this site.

Hi Jada - welcome to the forum.

LOL I didnt weigh as much as you at my biggest - but I am 5ft3 so I think that it is fair to say that I was a big girl in most people's terms.

I started by going out and walking near my house. I lived on a crescent - and by the time you added the distance along the straight and round the curve it was about 0.6 miles to walk around.

On day 1 I went out and walked round. I took my time - but got there... I paused a couple of times and sat on garden walls... It doesnt matter... I did it.

I felt a real sense of achievement.

The next day I went out and did it again.
I went out walking every day.

Every time I thought that I could increase it a bit I did.

Very quickly - I got so that I could walk major distances... My stamina improved...

I started not eating chocolate bars when they were offered to me...

Slowly I improved other things too...

I learnt more and honed things more and more as time progressed.

Small changes can make amazing results.

You can do it. Do it now.
