Hey everyone my name is Rob and i am new here i looked around a bit before i joined and liked what i saw so here i am lol. I currently weigh over 400lbs i haven't gotten to use a scale that will weigh over 400 so im not exact on a number yet, i have more reasons to lose it than i can count on one hand. I have always been big not just heavy but built big i am 6ft4 tall and wide. my main reason for wanting to lose the extra weight is because in 2006 my older brother lost his life to a heart attack he was only 29 years old, at the time i was only 17 it had a huge impact on my life i loved my brother very much he and i were very alike and even built the same witch brings me to my ordeal, I am 22 years old and on the road to a pine box so i am stepping up and want to get in better shape i know i will never be "skinny" i am not built that way but i am tired of waking up and seeing the Dunlop gut in the mirror :).

Sorry for the ramblings but that is my reason for coming here and i hope to get good encouragement from yall :)

Cheers R.

Hi Rob, Welcome to WLF. Sorry to hear about your brother. Its great that you want to become healthy and pretty much start a new life. I am new here as well, I have read a lot of these posts and I know there are a lot of people here that will encourage and motivate you. Just remember count your calories. That plays a big part in losing weight. Set short term Doable goals for yourself and reward yourself when you achieve those goals. Its funny cause I lived in Yakima for a short time. but I have lived all around Washington. Be sure to keep us updated on your progress. starting an online diary on this site is a great idea.

Thankyou :) I am going to start on counting calories today and head out to find a scale so i can get a starting weight my first goal is to get under 400 lol. From there i would like to go 350 then 300 and so on. The ideal weight i would like to reach is 225 being as i am a big guy anyways this is about what a friend of mine with a similar build weighs and he has no gut and is pretty well in shape. I welcome tips from anyone that has been in my position.

Cheers R.

I don't really know a lot of tips and tricks. When i was in high school i was taking weight training, watching how many calories i took in, how many calories i burned. and i would take grapefruit pills. I would also walk everyday after dinner for about 20min. In a course of 6 months i lost 70lbs. I felt great. then I graduated and then moved to Nevada. Then everything just went down the drain. When I was living in the small town it was a treat to have fast food maybe 2 times a month. Now living in Nevada i'm eating fast food about 5 times a week. :banghead: and have managed to put the weight back on. So I have decided to start another weight loss journey.

The only thing I know is if you don't have access to a gym. Walk and watch your calories. you can find online calorie calculators that will tell you the max amount of calories to consume a day in order to lose weight. Its all about baby steps.

Hey man

Nice to meet you.

Set yourself a goal and post it everywhere you can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
