Hey there everyone, my name's Jade, I'm 18 and I'm from London.

I'm not too good at introductions, so forgive me if this is too long/boring etc.

Last year my parents got divorced and since then I've struggled with depression and overeating as a result of it, and used food to cope with the stress of money worries etc. that the divorce has bought on aswell, meaning I've put on somewhere close to 2 stone as a result of everything.

At the beginning of April I was 5'2" and 11st. and I decided that enough was enough, so I made a promise to myself to change my lifestyle. I signed up to the gym - I now go 5-6 times a week for at least an hour - and learnt to cook - before I was living on ready made meals or not eating proper meals at all unless my boyfriend cooked me dinner.

Since then I've lost half a stone, so at the moment I'm 147lb and my goal is to get down to 126lb. Ideally I would like to be around 120lb, but I'm taking it a step at a time. I'm quite excited to have found this community, my friends aren't supportive and my mother is always putting me down. The only support I have at the moment is my boyfriend but I'm looking forward to speaking with people who are going through the same struggle.
 
i'm really sorry that you mother would put you down... i remember in 6th grade i in a changing room with my mother and she was getting frustrated with me for not being about to fit into the clothes... and she called me fat... and i have never been able to forget that moment... soo i dont think parents understand how much what they say can affect us...

anyways... its seems like you are on the right track for sure... i suppose its just a matter a waiting now... lol... hopefully your a patient person! good luck!
