Hey, I'm Tate.
24 yo. male - college student (medical).
I'm 6'1 and weigh 223 lbs. I lost a pound last week, lol.

Anyway, my goal weight is 175.
The reasons for this is to feel better, look better, and be healthier.
I eat way too much (huge portions, bad food).

I'm just thankful I don't weigh even more since my habits are so bad that I could weigh A LOT more. Though I guess all the walking around campus does me some good.

I was always a really skinny kid growing up and then I hit 20-21 and started packing on pounds.

I'm a really big sweet-eater and that's my hardest problem to overcome and my most beloved guilty pleasure. Sweets! Cake, candy bars, soda and snack cakes and ice cream. You name it, I eat it.

Luckily, I love fruit and vegetables and most food types.
So it should be easy for me to diet and I do love the taste of the Smart Ones and Healthy Choice sweets/dessert products. As well as the mint chocolate Atkins candybars (hehe).

I'll be updating and interacting with the forum as much as possible.
I don't have a support group so any help/encouragement/place to vent is great.

Nice to meet you all!

Hey Tate...I'm a fellow newbie myself but I wanted to say hi and welcome you anyway! I feel the same as you that I could weigh a lot more considering my eating habits were horrendous the last few years. My body finally started rebelling though, thank goodness. I still find it hard sometimes. I am sitting here at work with my low fat yoghurt and other breakfast stuff and craving other things, but I know in the long run I'm keeping my goal weight in sight...165 lbs. I'm around 213/214 last time I weighed myself, which was about a week ago. Keep going with everything and keep us informed. :)
