I am new here and wanted to say hello! I am 26yrs old, 5'6 ,198 pounds, size 14 jeans, and very unhappy and depressed. Summer will be here soon, and i feel miserable with my weight. All my friends are of the same height, and weigh under 130..makes me feel horrible at times. They all say I look great, and get annoyed when i tell them im fat. But god forbid they gain 5 pounds! its such a big deal..so i tell them to gain 60 pounds and be like me and then tell me how you feel..I have been lurking this site for a few days, and so many of you have some very inspirational advice! I believe in myself, and hope to reach my goal this year, which is 160lbs.

:) Looking forward to everyones advice

JO

You can do it. You've taken a big step by starting here. Get a diary going so you will stick with it. Look at it this way, I and many other people would love to weigh 198 lbs, it's all perspective. I wish you success in your diet.

Hi JO - a lot of people are in the same place as you right now... so you came to the right spot.
Very true, that you should start a diary and stick with it. Do you diet often or is this your first time? Have you included a exercise into your diet?

Good luck to you and any advice you need regarding first steps and sticking to the program, just ask... :D

All the best!

Thanks for the welcome :)

I dont diet very often.Maybe around every 6 months, but cant stick to one for over 2 weeks. These are the low carb diets, or those wierd ones, only fruit and rice..

My problem with not losing any weight was pretty much not eating anything all day, and stuffing my self before bedtime.Pizza was my worst habit, and pepsi.

So i decided to do this diet the healthy way. Increasing my food, eating less portions, cutting out sugar and fat. Again, worried i was going to quit the second week, i have taken baby steps quitting one bad habit at a time. It has been a month now, and i really dont consider it being a diet, but more of getting ready for my diet:)

I am now on the road to calorie counting, and exercise! Today Is day one of my diet. I am including my treadmill as exercise. But still have no idea how much to do, but have posted that under the weightloss with exercise forum.

I have not even thought about having a diary. Will do that also. Thanks! :D
