Hello everyone! (and a very good year wished to all)
Yes, the 1st of January and I think this is a perfect day to start losing weight.
I previously have been on the Atkins diet for about 2 and a half year and stopped that last July, I just had enough of it, well and I was on a holiday in Italy and I really didn't want to pass on those delicious pasta's or make a fuss about carrots in my salad, LOL.
I enjoyed it so much eating 'normal' again that i decided not to get back on the diet.
Also I must admit that I had been on a plateau since months already and no matter how I tried I couldn't seem to break away from it and I was very frustrated with it at that point.
At my lowest I weighed 165 lbs on it, which was in the summer of 2006.
Last summer I had already crept up to 177 lbs.
At the moment I am back to the exact weight that I was when I started Atkins in February 2005 which was 198 lbs. (I am 5'5'' btw)
I am not going back to Atkins, I decided I will go the 'up my exercise and count calories' way
Somehow one of the reasons is that I don't want to be a 'food outcast' for so much time to come only to find out I get stuck.
Oh, about myself, I am originally from the Netherlands, married my husband a little over 2 years ago and moved to Texas to be with him, we met over the internet in February 2000 and had enough of being so far apart.
I love being here and never regretted my decision, although I do in ways miss my old country and friends and family, being with him still wins over anything !
That's enough for now I guess, I hope to find a great support system here, I know a big part of my focusing on Atkins was the back-up you get from a forum, so that's why I immediately started searching another one.
