Hi everyone! My name is Brittany and I'm 20 years old. I had my son on 2/18/06. Prior to getting pregnant I weighed about 120 and was very athletic. I'm currently 160 and I just don't feel like myself anymore. I'm getting married in October of next year and I want to make sure I look and feel my best. I'm trying to lose about 40 pounds and I'm hoping this forum help as far as support goes. I'm semi-new to the area I live in and I'm very busy as far as work goes. Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself and I'll update on my progress

Taking control

Welcome!

....I'm getting married in October of next year and I want to make sure I look and feel my best. I'm trying to lose about 40 pounds and I'm hoping this forum help as far as support goes. I'm semi-new to the area I live in and I'm very busy as far as work goes. Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself and I'll update on my progress

40 pounds in one year is definitely doable. Back when I started losing weight, I had the joy of losing 10 pounds the first month and then...well....let's just say as the months went by, my body was a weeeee bit more stubborn at dropping continued weight. Thus, I'm now content with losing only a few pounds a month and don't angst any more over the time involved.

Since you have an iron-clad goal for next October, you might want to give yourself a clever helper or two (my term for anything that assists you in attaining your goal). For example, I love neon pink sticky notes that I can tack to my computer or my mirror or my front door - I'll write on them whatever I need to motivate myself. 'Witness the magic' is one (long story about that!), '126 or bust!' is another (my target weight goal) etc.

The thing to remember is you are in control...if you choose to be.

Best wishes for your future success,

Barbara
