I am new to the site. I'm not sure why I am here except that I am desperate. I am 30 years old and wiegh 360 Lbs.. I have no idea how I got to this wieght but I feel trapped in someonelses body. I need help to completely change my lifestyle.

Welcome to the forums.
This is a great place to get help and support. But ultimately the job comes down to you about how you do it.

I know exactly how bad it feels, i was 317 and im now -100lb, and the feeling now is fantastic in comparison!

So sort out HOW you are going to do it. Calorie counting appears to be the most popular and effective tool. You can sign up at fitday.com or sparkpeople.org to log all the food you eat so you can keep track of it.
Sign yourself up a diary in the diaries thread so we can all support you as well, and have a look and comment on other peoples diaries.

Best wishes!

I'm new, too

Hi.
I'm glad to see you came here. I was looking for some support, too.
I am always SO impressed when people try to do things that are good for them. I have always been so lazy about it.

Anyway, I hope you have a successful day.:)

One question I had on calorie counting is the whole baloon thing. Great exsplanation by the way. Should I worry more about the calorie intake per meal or as a whole of the day?

hi there and welocme aboard!!! I am 34 and used to weigh 298lbs and now i weigh 213lbs.......it can be done!!!!
For me i would concentrate on calories by the meal and watch portion size...thats what i do.....over all daily intake of cals is important....but ya don't want ot eat 1000 cals for breakfast and then have 500 left for lunch and dinner:eek: ...........that would suck!!! Start with small changes and set small goals.....like increasing the amount of water you drink or tryin to exercise for 10 to 15 min and portion controll....I really like the sparkspeople.com site it is easy and fun and helpful. wish ya well on this journey!!!! keep postin dude....STAR:D

Hi jrhamelt,
Welcome to the WLF,
Just remember, every pound you have to lose is the same, they come off one at a time.

You can do this and you're not alone!
