Hi All!

I joined this group with the hope of finding some new motivation. I lost 30 lbs about 4 year ago (woohooo!!!), and another 10 last year. For the last 6 months or so, despite a healthy diet and exercise schedule, I have not lost a single pound. I have seen various body parts get smaller and leaner (but not my belly pooch, darn it), but I need to kick it up another notch. That's where this group hopefully comes in!

I need motivation to continue to leave my cravings alone! I can do really well for a few weeks, and then just break and chow down on all the sweet and salty snacks I can manage. I'm hoping for some buddies I can email or post to real quick to help me see beyond the cravings during the times when I can't see it myself!

I also need to figure out what the heck to do with my diet. I eat extremely healthy but the amount of calories I eat a day still seems high....and yet they still leave me hungry! I have a good mix of proteins, whole grain carbs, veggies, and fruits all throughout my meals. I can't go 3-4 hours after a meal without being hungry, and being hungry makes me VERY uncomfortable. Any advice?

Thanks for reading, hope to talk to you all soon!

hi. looks like a couple problems and I don't have any perfect solution, just things to try.

so, make sure you are eating protein. Protein takes longer to digest, so will often keep you going between meals.

Drinking lots of water can also help curb cravings. 4 hours between meals can be tough, though, no matter what you eat. If water doesn't help, try having some nuts. I always like snaking on almonds.

As for taking off the extra pounds, you could try increase your cardio and or your weight training. You need the weights to increase muscle density to burn the calories and the more intense cardio to actual put the muscles to work.

I like to have a snack of fruit half-way between my meals. I like the last comment about nuts also. Try and see what works best for you.

If your not losing weight then you are taking in exactly the same number of calories you are burning. If you want to keep eating the same amount, then your only recourse is to exercise more.
