Hello, My name is Daniel.

I am 25 years old this thursday and I'm ready to change my life.

I am 5'10, nearly 400 pounds, and am ready to change.

I was a football player in highschool, and my last recorded weight was 285 lbs back in september of 2000. Back then i ran every day and lifted weights 3 times a week. Since highschool i have packed on the pounds through laziness, bad eating habits, and poor life style choices.

To lay it all out on the table, my love of 2 years left me 2 weeks ago. I'm not here to go into it, but communication and complacency ruined a wonderful thing. That being said, I spent the past 2 years trying to get her and I to get off the video games every night and to go out and exercise. Now i realize, I was making myself un happy. I want to change, and i have this unsatiable hunger to get healthy. The skinny part will come later, I just want to feel good.

So i found this place. My circle of friends have no interest in getting healthy or exercising, so i'm doing this by my self for now, with the support of my mother and father.

I hope to find some good advice, some good inspiration, and look forward to sharing ideas and experiences with the people on these forums.

What i have done so far.

I haven't had a soda or fried food in two weeks. I have only been drinking water. I have cut my caloric intake down to about 1000-1500 per day. Fruit, salads, and lean proteins. I still don't know what or how much i should be eating but my meals have gone like this. Morning. Oatmeal, and an apple. Lunch salad w/ chicken, or a subway sandwich. I get a footlong from their diet menu with tons of veggies on it. no cheese, no dressing, and eat half at 1pm. and the other between 5 and 6. (its hard because of college and work). but i try to stop eating before 7p.m.

Tomorrow i start my excersie and I expect that to increase my appetite a bit and i plan on adjusting my food intake accordingly, i just don't know who to ask about how to measure what is good for me at that level.

I have searched online for work out routines and i have found things that are similar to what i did in highschool, so i'm going to start there.

Any advice, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Daniel.

Wow...Daniel you really are trying to lose the weight fast, I completely understand why. You are probably having a 2-3000 a day deficit which is enormous. I did something similar a couple of years back and lasted about 7-10 days. I was in ketosis after that length of time and felt like crap.

I did drop a few pounds but found myself unable to keep up that level of restriction.

Now I am on the slow and easy route....a 1000 calorie per day restriction. Which is hard enough for me to contend with.

Good luck Daniel, I hope your diet works for you.

Wow i definitely want to avoid that. I just was eating SO much food, and it was bad food. huge breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner and snacks.

I was sticking food in my mouth when my stomach said it wasn't stuffed any more. So i decided to go this route because i know i can do it. and im slowly coming to a balance of eating. feeling hungry for a couple hours. eating when i'm really hungry not when i have a craving, then maybe eating something before 7p.m. first few days it was painful. Now with water in my system, my body feels better, I can tell my stomach is shrinking cause smaller amounts of food fill me up like massive amounts of food would.

Its also not about not eating bad foods. its that i enjoy fresh, clean, unfried, foods. I love fresh fish, sushi, veggies, and things that are made and not defrosted or pulled out of a can. This food just makes me feel better.

Hey Daniel! Welcome to the forum. Soda and fried foods are hard to give up! Good job!! Your calories are cut pretty low there.

I look forward to seeing you regain your health back.

Sorry to hear about the breakup. Some change is good though, and once you are happy with you, you will have a whole different life.

Congrats on taking steps to turning your life around.
