Hello! New here, looking for advice :D

Hello everyone, I'm 15, I'm 5"11 and weigh 171 lbs. Now, what I'm wonder is how I could lose some weight, because before I started 7th grade I used to be like a stick, now, I've put on some weight. If anyone has some type of starter diet or exercise plan I could try I would be very grateful. My BMI is 23.7, but I'm not sure if that helps at all. Any info really on where I should start would be awesome. Thanks :)
