Hello. Looking For Somewhere To Start

I stumbled across this site using Google and figured why not ask some questions.

I'm about to be 16 in less than 2 months, and I'm just wondering where to start with working out. I've always wanted to get my upper body a bit bigger. I'm 5'10", and I range between 135-140 lbs. I'm clueless on my amount of body fat though. We have a workout machine here in the house that I've been told works pretty much everything on the body, so finding a gym isn't really a problem.

My main question is I'm not really sure on how much weight I should start out doing for each type of lifting. If you could give any advice about where to start or get a good feel of how much I should be lifting and how many sets I should do of what, that'd be great.

Lift a weight you can do 10-15 reps for 2 sets for the 1st 2weeks and then move up to 3 sets.

it shouldn't be too hard and you shouldnt really push yourself. Think of the 1st month as a practice run, you shouldnt be sore the next day, just learn how to do it properly.

start a diary here and post up what you will do in a week and we'll have a look at it to see if it needs changing.
