Hi everyone,
I love this site, its really motivated me quite a bit. it feels soooo good to know you're not alone. I'm 5'4 and in the summer I weighed more than 215 pounds, and today I weigh 180! I feel SO much more confident and I love myself more. I still want to lose about 40 pounds, but thats my long term goal. I've always bee n naturally heavy, and since I was 13, I've worked out and dieted to stay around 140-145. Finally, before my freshman year in college, I got down to 135, but I couldn't maintain it. Not only could I not maintain it, but in less than 4 years, I gained about 70 pounds!!!!
How? Probably because I went from working out twice a day, eating mostly protein and vegetables to NEVER working out, and eating fried, fat loaded food at college with my naturally thin friends. I was also diagnosed with depression when I was 18, and I would eat for comfort (thankfully I've broken that chain now). My freshman 15 was more like a freshman 50.
My weight really depressed me, and I was surrounded by people who had seen me when I was thinner, so they NEVER let off with their critcisms. I think its especially difficult for someone like me to lose weight because I have this mentality of "oh no, not AGAIN!" But I'm over that now, I'm doing this for my health and for myself.
But Thank God, I've made some great strides. I now do an hour of cardio 6 days a weak, and weights 3 times a week. I had hit a plateau for a while (Which is how i found this website, trying to figure out how to break it) and I lost 5 more pounds.
I want to look beautiful and I want to look 21. I'll put up some pictures later, but I'm really glad I found this site and I love watching everyones progress. I hope you guys can help me stay positive, and motivated.
Thanks everyone, and God Bless!
