Hello there,

This is my first time on joining any weight lost forums. My nickname is May. :waving: The reason why I decided to join the forum is to find motivation and talk to others who aim to lose weight. I currently weigh 159.5 pounds (72.5 kg). Height = 165 cm.

I use to be a runner for my sport house and school team. During those times, I recall how my coach told me to lose some weight as I was the biggest size runner in the team, it was kinda embarrassing. Moreover, my parents have always called me fat along with my other family members and some friends of mine. Those humiliating times have encouraged me to take up a challenge to lose over 30 pounds.

As a teenager, I have always loved dresses. However, due to my size, I have never felt confident and often fell frustrated when I saw how fat I looked like in a dress. My main goal is to reach my ideal weight of 55kg before I enter college/pre-u.

I love making new friends, and would definitely look forward to make new friends here too. :) Well, thank you for reading my introduction thread. Nice to meet you! :seeya:

Hi there May

Nice to meet you. I know exactly what you mean about the dresses. When I was alot smaller I had no problem wearing dresses but now I want nothing to do with them. I hate seeing a really nice one but knowing there is no point in trying it on because I know it won't look good on me the way I am right now.

Good luck to you! :)

Hi May, my suggestion to you is to pick one out that you truly love. Buy it in the appropriate size down from where you are now and tack it up on a wall that you see every day, when you start your day. Each month try to get into it and see if you are closer to the goal.
I did this with my old running outfit. I had my running tights and top stuck up the the wall just outside my bathroom. Every month I would try to get it on, oh my god it was awful at first. When I could finally pull on the pants, even though they looked awful and I certainly wasn't going to wear them out of the house, I just danced around in them. I know I looked completely horrific but I didn't care because I could finally get them up over my bum and thighs.
I am now just waiting for the weather to get cool enough to wear them out. Every single month I looked forward to seeing how much closer I was to the goal. It motivated me, I can't tell you how much that helped. A physical showing that the work I was doing was getting me closer to where I wanted to be.
Give it a shot, the goal or in my case the tights, in your case the dress, feels amazing!!!
