Hello, my name is Gates and I'm absolutely sick of being over weight. I have been on the low-carb diet for a month and 17 days. I've lost 7 pounds in that time. I would like to start working out. But I really don't know where to start.
If anyone has/had an exercise routine that works please let me know! And I'd really like to get into this site and help people and hopefully be motivated a bit more.
My goal is to lose 30 pounds by the end of September.
[Email address removed] I'd really appreciate any support, routines, stories, or friendly introductions from anyone!
Thankyou and have a great day =)
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hey, welcome to the forum.

its not a good idea to post your personal details like email addresses, but just wait for a response to the post on the forum :)

As for exercise, i found working it into games and fun things like sports the best way. I was less likely to stop doing it if it was team stuff as well. People relied on me

Joining challenges helps to keep a lot of people motivated.

Although I have done other forms of exercise too - my main exercise is and always has been walking. The costs are minimal and you can slot it into any convenient time through the day. Although it is nice to exercise with others as Wishes suggests - it can be convenient not to be reliant on others too. You can walk with a friend or by yourself.

I find wearing a pedometer to be a really good idea. That way you can see how your day compares to the day before and allow it to challenge you to do a little further each day. Before you know it - even someone who thinks of themselves as big can recognise that they are doing quite a serious amount of exercise.

As my fitness level increased I found that I wanted to try out other forms of exercise - and just looked at what was available and tried the things that appealed.
