Hi Mandie!!

I am new to this site too. I think it's just what I've been looking for. People who are in my boat!

So far, I started a Weight Loss Journal. I think it'll be pretty helpful. A place to share my success and struggles and get a little bit of advice now and then.

Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?

Hiya, its great to meet you! maybe we can help each other with our weight loss? your idea of a weight loss journal sounds a really good idea....Im gonna buy a note book later and do the same thing. How much do you want to lose? Are you losing weight for a special occassion? My friend does weight watches...and said that she could help me.....its my first day on it today and Im already confused...lol. Which diet are you following? Would love to hear from you again! Mandie.

Hi ya! Welcome to WLF! I think when he/she said that they started a journal they meant an online diary here on WLF. That way people can come by everyday and encourage you, give you advice, or just make you laugh and/or smile...we do alot of all three!

There is a section on here that you can start a post/journal. You can add to it and people can comment on it too.

Right now I'm at 196 and would really like to get down to 130ish eventually. I'll take it as it goes in this case. We want to have another child and we both agree we need to get our health in order before even thinking about it.

I have had some success with Richard Simmons Foodmover in the past. I lost 30 lbs about 2 years ago using it and walking about a mile every day. I gained it all back when I got married.

This time around I'm finding it really hard to be good every day. I like mayo and chocolate and peanut butter and potato chips. And I have much less time to exercise and cook healthy meals. When I stumble in the day, I end up just blowing the whole day and eating everything and anything.

Soooo, here's my approach.

I am sticking to a 1200ish calorie diet.

For breakfast, I have a bagel with very little cream cheese. I can't stand the lowfat stuff, so I just go super easy on the bad stuff.

For lunch, I either have subway or a smartones/lean cuisine frozen. I really love to cook but chasing after my daughter and working doesn't give me a whole lot of extra time during the day.

For dinner, I cook for my husband. He isn't on a diet so I still make the things he likes and I just eat smaller portions.

I love love love soda. It is my big downfall. I try and stick to water or decaf ice tea sweetened lightly with splenda. Every now and then, I splurge on a Coke or Coke Zero. Diet sodas have tons of sodium (it's always something isn't it!)

Wow, I've written a novel here!!

I'd love to hear what you are doing and how it is going for you! Feel free to email me as well!
