Hello, i need some advice?

About a month ago I made my mind up to go out to the gym to loose some weight. I havent been able to for several reasons...but my Iam going to start going next week on Tuesday. I am 17 years old and I weigh 210 pounds. I wieghed 222 right before i made my desicion. The only reason i havent been able to go through with it is becuase right after school i had two hours to rest and then 3 hours of drivers ed [not that i need i, i just want the lisence]. Tuesday ill be done and my schedule will be clear. I pretty much know that to loose weight iam going to need a diet and good exercise. What would be proper to eat and do at the gym?
 
I'm not much for knowing what to do exactly but if you read some peoples diaries they have really good ideas! Good luck with everything and Welcome!!! :)

hey there! well i want to welcome you to this forum I just found it a couple of days ago and just to let you know everyone here is really nice & great. Well regarding your situation, the first thing you need to do is set a realist goal for yourself. For example tell yourself you will loose 5lbs in the next two weeks. Then you gotta do everything possible to achieve that goal, and always keep in mind if you want something really bad(as long as its realistic) you will be able to accomplish it, you just have to really want it. I've been losing weight for a little bit over a year, and the way I did it is portion control. Just start eating 5 small meals a day. For example 1 apple for breakfast(great source of fiber it will keep you full) and maybe at 2 hours later a toast with light butter, then a lunch full packed with greens and veggies, another snack, and a light dinner. You will be amazed at how fast the weight will start coming off keeping portion control in mind. Also drink PLENTY of water. Being as young as you are (I'm 21 so we are kinda in the same range) its is alot easier to loose weight because our metabolism is at peak. Anyways hope that helps keep us updated!!
 
Keep it healthy is my motto. Maybe see your physician to help you get started. Try to keep yourself motivated! We're rooting for you!:)
 
I agree with the portion control thing, I don't think we realize how much we eat. I didn't :eek: In the gym I do believe cardio is key (aerobics, treadmill, elliptical, etc.) and also some weight training. That way you have good lookin toned mucles:) If you are going to a gym, the trainers there should help you out. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion, and you can do whatever you want.:D Many blessings to you and YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!
