21 years old, 5'9, and i am 281lbs. For about a month or more now i have been somewhat eating right(i hope), as i have been watching calorie intake and reading every label on everything. Also have just about gotten my portions down to a minimum and feel as if i am finally eating right, at least somewhat. My eating habits have also been pretty bad as i rarely would binge, though it did happen, but more so i would just not eat, and it wasnt on purpose i simply would find myself not hungry at all and would only eat like one meal all day. So i have just about got that fixed.
Where my problems lie are in exercise i suppose. As unbelievable as it is at 281lbs i actually do really enjoy exercise and being active and i do quite a bit weekly. I suppose i just dont have a grip on what i actually should be doing at this weight. My Frequency and Intensity of working out is this. Weekly i would say i do about 400 - 500 situps, i try to do cardio but dont know which exercises are best, so i find myself doing jumping jacks(300week) and boxing(heavy/speed bag,2hr a week), i also work with a exercise ball quite a bit. One thing im not sure if im doing wrong is, i seem to do more Weight Lifting than cardio, i love weight lifting and enjoy it but i always read that it doesnt so much burn fat as build muscle.
I really need help with what i should be doing to loose weight. I read most people like to loose a pound a week, well id like to loose 2 pounds a week. As i said im pretty active and i love to work out, and have pleanty of time for it. I just do not know what workouts i should be doing. I am defienatly way over weight, and as much as i hate to say it, it has to be partly hereditry as i do have family that is extremely obese. Also i have asked for help with other family members but they all seem to shrug it off and concern themselves with their own problems, and i am much to broke to join a gym or find a trainer. So i am basicly trying to do this with no help at all, which is why i suppose i signed onto this forum. I understand i can only help myself but it'll be nice having some direction to go in or follow.
