Hi everyone,
Well, I'm ready to get back in shape. I'm the stereotypical story of the (almost)middle-aged ex-jock that let it slip away. I'm 5'8" weighing in at around 340lbs.
It's alot right well keep in mind I was always a "big-ol'-countryboy". In High school I wrestled @ 175lbs. w/10 - 12% bodyfat. After High School I spent all my time at the gym and got up to a respectable 240lbs. @ around 15 -18% Held my weight there until my mid to late 20s. When I hit my 30s it just started packing on. I had new family to provide for and my priorities changed. Instead of spending my spare time in the gym, I spent my spare time doing side jobs for extra money (I'm in construction).
Well, now I have my own company and more spare time. So now I'm ready to spend some of that time on me. :hurray: I've been reading the threads off and on all day and can't wait to get started... Very inspirational people around here.

You sound like you have a lot of energy and are in the right mindset to take this on. One thing that has been helping me is to not ever refer to it as a diet. I'm not dieting, I'm changing the way I eat permanently for the better. Best of luck to you, you're in the right place. The people here are incredible and incredibly supportive.
