Hello- From the Middle of ABSOLUTE NOWHERE

Hello, my name is Gerit; I live in the middle of nowhere, (Northern Kansas). I weigh 212 pounds on my last weigh in, and have lost about 10 pounds since I've started losing weight. I hope to get pictures up sometime soon, if I can build up the courage. Maybe I'll put them on here when I get close to my goal (150 pounds).

Right now I eat 1500 calories a day or less. My Basic Metabolic Rate is about 2100, and I run two miles everyday.

I'm really just looking for some support at the moment, seeing as my family is the, 'YOU WILL FINISH THAT 5 POUNDS TUB OF LARD AND LIKE IT!' kind of family, that gets mad if I don't eat 10,000 calories at each meal. :banghead:

Hi, and welcome :) I'd recommend setting up a diary in the appropriate section, it's a great place to write about your weight loss goals and get support and advice from others (and read other people's diaries for ideas and motivation)

You sound like you're going really well with your weight loss so far.
 
Welcome Gerit. You made me laugh speaking about your family. It's gonna be trying for you if you are living with them. How old are you?

I hope you find all the support you need here.
 
Given your age, I'd seriously recommend talking to your doctor. It's good you want to have a healthy diet, but at your age you're almost certainly still growing, and you don't want to hamper your development through dieting. (Talking to your doctor may also give you some backup if you're having trouble getting your parents onboard with a healthy diet)

I completely agree! I think it's great that you're taking charge of your health now and not after it's too late!
 
Thank you for the support and advice everyone. The doctor issue is not a problem, as my mother is a nurse anesthetist. (She's the only one that supports me even a fraction.)

Seems to me that if you have your mum on side, you don't need anyone else do you? Start a food log diary on the diary section but please make sure you note your age clearly at the beginning, along with he other basic essentials.

This is a good place for support and motivation.
 
You are still growing [being 14] but being healthy is never a bad thing and with your mom at your side watching and helping you along the way...it's great! I'm sure you'll receive the inspiration you are wanting from here. :)
