Just wanted to stop in and say hi to everybody and give you some background about me.

I am 27 years old
I am 6ft4in tall
I currently weigh 238lbs
Today (Sunday, March 11 2k7) I will be starting my diet.
My goal weight is 205lbs.
I want to reach my goal weight by June

When I graduated from college I was at my top weight of 289lbs- I graduated from IUP in CULINARY- needless to say, all the food around me made me big. But I eventually lost the weight and got down to 205lbs- but then my doctor put me on medication which made me gain weight- the medication was Effexor- and the reason why he put me on it was because I was not sleeping well at night and I had very high anxiety.- I will never take that medication again... I was weighing in at 255lbs before I stopped the medication- and needless to say, I was very pissed at myself- So, slowly, the weight is coming back off again- and when I say slowly, I do mean slowly- I stopped taking the medication in september 2006 and I only lost 17lbs- Yes, I know, that is not bad at all- but it is now time to rev this up and get these remaining lbs off of me.

I will be doing a low carb- high protein diet. I love meat, eggs and cheese!

My career is not in Culinary- when I graduated, I hated the thoughts of cooking. I am an IT Analyst.

Ok- I just wanted to introduce myself and I look forward to meeting you and it is good to know I am not on this journey alone!!

Good Luck with the rest of your weight loss journey you have come to the right place. Lots of support!!! :)

Hi Chendo - good luck with your goals! You may have already done this but you can create a diary in the diary section - I've found it has really helped me :) Rachie

Hey-similiar boat here too

Hey dude, I recently took myself off of an anti-anxiety drug called Paxil. I too gained at least 20lbs from it. I went on it for panic attacks which run in my family and the drug worked but I got fat and it killed my sex drive (but that's a different topic). Anyway, now I'm trying to lose this weight and also be more healthy in general. I also used to run but hurt my knee so exercise is tough for me. I'm trying to do low impact walking on the treadmill.

Nice to meet you-I'm Ken
