Hi everyone, I decided I needed to lose some weight as I was starting to feel a little sluggish, I weigh 228 lbs at 5'10". I have gone from 5 cans of coke to 1 in the evening, starting tracking my calories and made a 500 calorie deficit, I have also been going to the YMCA for about an hour a day and started jogging, I would warm up by walking .2 mile and then jog 1 mile @ 6mph and then walk about .2 mile, after a couple of days my knees started to hurt, so I switched to rowing, started at just 1 mile and on Sat. had worked up to about 4 miles, I steeped on the scale and to my surprise I had lost almost 4 lbs. in one week, took sunday off as my knees are still hurting and now today I have so much pain I can hardly walk up the stairs, I am also limping all over the place.. It does not feel like it is a muscle ach as it feels like it might be a joint pain, I also have some pain going down my legs from my knees, anyway I know you are not Dr's. what my question is what are some high calorie burning exercises I can do while I let my legs rest? I do not want to lose momentum so early in my diet plan I would like to be down to 180 in about a year... Thank you.

Hello welcome! :)
When your legs are resting try sit ups, and pull ups. If your legs are really hurting try drinking lemon juice, it's meant to help and It does work a little.
Also do a little exercising with your legs while they are hurting but lightly, like going for a short walk on a flat or downhill only road.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks CloudyMuffin, well I just got home from the Y and I am bummed, I tried sit up and cant really do pull ups, (had a back injury a couple of years ago).. I tried the 1 machine they had for cardio that does not use my knees and I got frustrated with that thing, started walking but my knee pain got to be to much, on top of that I got on the scale and I now gained weight, so I am back where I started only now I cannot walk. :puke:
